BidCraft AI – Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 3, 2026
BidCraft AI ("the extension") helps freelancers write Upwork proposals using Google Gemini. This policy explains what data the extension handles and how.
1. Data stored on your device
The following is saved only in your browser using chrome.storage.local:
- Your freelancer profile (name, title, skills, portfolio links, bio) that you type in
- Your Google Gemini API key
- A local counter of how many proposals you generated
This data never leaves your device except as described in section 2. The developer has no servers and never receives it.
2. Data sent to Google Gemini
Only when you click Generate Proposal, the extension sends the following directly from your browser to the Google Gemini API (generativelanguage.googleapis.com) using your own API key:
- The job title, description, skills and client summary of the Upwork job you are viewing (or that you pasted)
- Your freelancer profile and any extra instructions you typed
This processing is governed by the Gemini API Terms and Google Privacy Policy.
3. Upwork pages
The extension reads the content of Upwork job pages only to fill in the job details for your proposal, and writes into the cover letter field only when you click Insert into Upwork. It does not read any other websites.
4. What we do not do
- No analytics, tracking, cookies, or advertising
- No selling or sharing of data with third parties
- No use of data for purposes unrelated to generating your proposals
- No use or transfer of data to determine creditworthiness or for lending purposes
5. Deleting your data
Open the extension → Settings → Delete all my data, or simply uninstall the extension. Both remove all stored data.
